Bistro & Bar
Une Bastide:
A country house in the south of France.
Un Bistro:
A neighbourhood restaurant offering French cuisine.
La Bastide’s internationally experienced team brings a taste of France to the heart of Shenton Park. Whether dining alfresco sur la terrasse or sitting among the vintage mirrors in our salle à manger, you will be immersed in the gastronomic experience of a traditional French bistro.
We serve contemporary versions of French bistro classics and tailor our menus to celebrate seasonal produce from local suppliers. Our food is complemented by a carefully curated wine list inspired by the regions of Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux and the Rhône. The list includes an extensive and rare collection of aged wines.
Open until late every Wednesday to Sunday, La Bastide will be a meeting place for anyone who enjoys the conviviality of French hospitality. Join us for breakfast, lunch, dinner, an aperitif or a glass of wine.
We hope that your dining experiences at La Bastide reflect our love for the food, wine and hospitality of the bistros of France.

Food
At La Bastide, we are excited to serve a menu rich with classic French bistro foods complemented by a few modern adaptations and local interpretations of these traditional dishes.
Our menu celebrates seasonal Western Australian produce combined with French delicacies which can only authentically come from France.
In addition to our regular menus, at the beginning of every month, we post a Classics Menu. In each week of the month, our Classics Menu features a dish highlighting the vibrant culinary fusion achieved by combining the very best seasonal produce with the refined techniques of classic French cuisine.
French bistros are renowned for their skilful pairing of wine with food. We take pride in offering a carefully constructed wine list designed to complement our food in the same way.
Wine
Wine is a fundamental and passionate focus at La Bastide. Our wine list – la carte des vins – is the result of Rob and Michelle’s lifelong interest in wine, from growing up with parents who enjoyed Margaret River classics to living overseas and tasting wine around the world, particularly in France. We believe strongly that most wines drink better when accompanied with food.
These experiences and this philosophy have resulted in a carefully curated wine list inspired by the classic French wine regions of Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux and the Rhône. With a broad selection of wines on our list, you can taste a range of wines which have been chosen to match with and enhance the dishes in our food menu. Our wine list also includes an extensive and rare collection of aged wines.
We hope you find many wines on our list which are interesting and to your liking. Please feel free to ask us for suggestions. We love to talk about – and drink – wine.
